Graze Food Hall is a go.
The Minneapolis Planning Commission gave its blessing to the two-story “food and drink collective” at its Monday meeting. Columbus, OH-based Derived Development Group first pitched Graze for a spot in Minneapolis’ North Loop neighborhood in February.
The company plans to build the 14,139-square-foot building over an underground parking ramp located at 525 Third Ave. N in the city’s North Loop neighborhood. The current concept calls for six kitchens to be let to local chefs, two dining rooms, two bars, a coffee shop, a patio and a 3,097-square-foot rooftop patio.
The commission put off two new apartment proposals until next month.
One is a plan by Minneapolis developer Master Properties that calls for a new, five-story building with 80 apartments and 13,000-square-feet of commercial space at a spot in Northeast. The property at 1717 Central Ave. NE was once a Burger King, but was remade by Hillcrest Development into a daycare center in the early 2010s. It sits a few blocks away from Minneapolis’ craft cider maker Sociable Cider Werks and across the street from a complex that include Tattersall Distilling, Diamonds Coffee Shoppe and Brickmania Toyworks.
The other called for constructing a building with 32 studio apartments at 2628 Essex St. SE in Prospect Park. The 0.2-acre lot is currently occupied by a house that dates back to 1908. The plans were put forward by Brian Gadient of Momentum Design Group.
Both are scheduled to reappear on the commission’s June 11 agenda.
