LHB, Inc. congratulates Kim D. Bretheim, Housing Studio Leader and Architectural Focus Leader for LHB, who has been elevated by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to the College of Fellows.
Nominated in the category of education, research, literature, and practice, Kim Bretheim has designed more than 8,700 affordable and low-income living units across the Midwest serving families, senior citizens, and individuals experiencing addiction and mental health issues. Kim leverages his 40 years of experience by collaborating with other design professionals to advance housing design policy and serves the community as Board Chair of the Greater Minnesota Housing Fund/Minnesota Equity Fund.
Kim has led more than 150 housing projects grounded in his conviction that everyone is entitled to a home with quality architecture promising security, community, and a sense of belonging. His tireless dedication to the profession of architecture has resulted in being honored with over 70 design awards, featured in 80 publications, and 30 educational presentations.

The American Institute of Architects confers “Fellowship” on individual architects who have been deemed by their peers to have shown distinction before the public and the profession as a model architect. Architects advanced to the College of Fellows have made significant and lasting contributions to architecture and society.
